Visualisation Meditation

You can change these self limiting beliefs by telling yourself more positive thoughts. Top class athletes before going into a competition often visualize the race before it happens. They visualise every step of the way how they feel, what is around them, smells, noise what they are doing and even before the race is won, in their vision they have already won the race.

A lot of the people in my circle of friends think that I am a bit mad. They can not believe that I actually just sit there and think. Meditation has had such a positive effect on my life and continues to do so, therefore my friends can mock as much as they like. I actually believe that some of them should try it themselves but they always laugh at the suggestion.

Take three deep breaths, counting as you breath in, holding your breath for the same count, breathing out to the same count, and again holding again to the same count before you start the cycle again. The number you count during each stage will depend on the size of your lungs. You need to take deep breaths but not feel uncomfortable or out of breath during the holds.

Meditation can help keep stress levels under control, which can in turn make you less likely to develop a variety of illnesses, from heart disease to stroke. Meditation also has a beneficial effect on your mental health, and meditators often report being happier and more fulfilled than those who don't meditate.

As with any energy work, we start by imagining protection all around us, allowing in only good energy and keeping out anything that is not right for us. The way to do this is to imagine a special filter or shield all around you. Only the good healing energy can enter, anything else just bounces off, leaving you strong and protected.

The main challenge with meditation is to remain focused - if you keep practicing you will find meditation an effective stress management tool. Awareness and visualisation can be the techniques that you use to meditate. An audio of guided visualisation will assist you in the process of meditation - it will get you on the right track. A good example is when I heard a football player being interviewed on camera during half time. He said he was disoriented and played badly because he couldn't remember a thing the coach told him before the match. All the instructions he was given probably didn't go below his Beta level, which is the conscious, superficial level. Being highly stressed and tense, he simply could not get the coach's information into his deep memory, so he forgot it as soon as he walked out the door.
